Cyclist’s deputy editor, James Spender, got a taste of America’s famed gravel scene this issue, when he ventured to Utah to ride in the Moab desert. According to his ride report, it’s a place like no other. We followed that up with a profile on a rider like no other, Annemiek van Vlenten, who looks back over a peerless career and looks ahead to what the future may hold, now that there’s no more races to win. She says she might want to party, so perhaps a trip to the Six Days of Ghent is in order – we visited the event and found it was as much about the festival as it was about the cycling.
